The Shot Heard Around the World

Can you feel it? Can you feel the shift? 

After many years of feeling suffocated I just took in a full, sweet breath. It did not chill the lungs, like the first breath of Spring.

Something happened when they missed killing DJ. When he stood bloodied and defiant, fist raised, shouting 'fight'. Something stood up in all of us, in the camp of the non-compliant - freedom fighters rallied to a cause.

You could see it in the alliance of leaders at the RNC, focused on a common energy and aligned for the first time in what feels like an age.

A new age has dawned. The thaw of the winter has begun. Everywhere you look things seem brighter. All creation whispers, "Aslan is on the move." (C S Lewis)

And thank God! 

Thank God for intervening and protecting Donald Trump. Thank God for the prayers of His people. Thank God for that slight turn of the head. Thank God for the ludicrous headlines of the media - "Trump falls at sound of loud noise." :D

Thank God for the clarity of the falsehoods, the desperate nature of the lies - "We couldn't put a man on a sloping roof, it was too dangerous." The memes on social media on this theme have been hilarious.

Thank God for the obvious shift in Donald Trump himself - the public humility and softening, to compliment his obvious resolve; his warning to terrorists worldwide; his statement of intent and hope; his clear love of the people; the many who now stood to tell the world of who the man really is; the obvious disparity between those accounts and the world's media spin.

I have been in mourning this past week, for what might have been - a world without the last of its defenders, the demise of the land of the free. Samson without hair.

Mourning for the dying of the light, the encroaching darkness of emboldened enemies like orcs and Urak-hai marching on Helm's Deep (Tolkien). 

Like one last blast of the horn of the Hammerhand, Trump stood bloodied with fist raised, shouting, "fight'. 

We'll never forget it. The fightback has just begun.

New beginnings are awesome. A new space, a new life, whatever that looks like... it's the juice of life! We need them. But what do you do when the gloss wears off and they're not like new any more? I love old pairs of jeans. You can buy them like that, but they're even better when you wear them in. You treasure them, because of the process - You invested in them. Slow days can be good days when you can see down the track. When you have a vision and purpose,  the mundane everyday's of life don't have to be dull. You can take a break for a moment & enjoy life a little. "Without a vision, the people perish" wrote the wisest of men in history. What is it you want? Where is it you're headed? Power to Create Worlds

You may not know it yet but you, along with every human being on the planet, have the power to create worlds. We are made in the image of our creator. It's a fearsome thing to think about and probably why so many of us can't do it for long. We worry and toil, thinking about the time and how much money we have, the smallest of things; while all of us are capable of creating anything. In fact we are doing so - creating our own worlds, right now, as we speak. Thoughts become words and words create worlds. That's a fairly big assertion , I get it, but take a moment to notice what you were thinking about a moment ago & the precise words you used the last time you spoke.
