Where to Begin

In life's frustrations and in its turmoil, it's not easy to know where to begin to turn things around. Turning around is where to begin. If things aren't going as we want them to, our tendancy is to look at our circumstances. Obviously something outside of us has to change! haha!

The truth however, gentle reader, is that our outer experience is a reflection of our inner world.

If you truly want things to change, you have to start with you. I could espouse on the workings of this, but might save you the trouble and simply point to where to begin.

Begin with gratitude.

You may not like to hear it. It may be the hardest work you will ever do, but our thoughts impact our actions and our actions our experience; your circumstances if you like...

This is not to say it is your fault. Take heart! You are not alone. It is the struggle of every human being on the planet.

If you can find things to be grateful for, even small things, especially small things, you will start to see things differently and opportunities will emerge from the dust of life. Small opportunities perhaps, but do not despise small beginnings. A great river begins with a gentle stream.

  2. That is so true Simon, and, somehow, no matter how much we struggle or have problems with this and fhat, you can always, or just about always, find something to be grateful for! Being alive and awake for starters! Thanks for the reminder anyway!
